The Certified ScrumMaster® (CSM) course is a two-day, entry-level course taught by a Certified Scrum Trainer®. The CSM course is designed to cover all the basics of Scrum so you can begin to fulfill the Scrum Master role. Upon Graduation, as a result of their successful completion of the program, each participant will get an invitation to join Scrumalliance as a certified Scrum Master.
- Scrum basics and core values
- How the Scrum framework compares to other methods, such as waterfall
- How to identify when to use Scrum
- A Scrum team’s three roles and responsibilities
- Scrum meetings, including the Sprint Review, Sprint Retrospective and Release Planning
- Sprint Backlog and Product Backlog
- Scrum artifacts, including the Product Backlog, Sprint Backlog and Burndown Charts
- Remove the barriers between development and business (ProductOwner) so the business directly drives development;
- Teach the business how to maximize ROI and meet their objectives through Scrum;
- Improve the lives of the development team by facilitating creativity and empowerment;
- Improve the productivity of the development team in any way possible;
- Improve the engineering practices and tools so each increment of functionality is potentially shippable
The training is done with several exercises. Be prepared to do hard work. The training will give you the Feeling of Scrum itself
The first day is dedicated to the Why and the Philosophy the Meaning of Scrum.
- The second day hands you over the tools and the How of Scrum.Using anecdotes and experience, teaching the Scrum framework, and how to use it to be an effective Agile project manager – you will learn to be a ScrumMaster.

Jens Ostergaard has spent more than 20 years as a developer, DBA, team manager, project manager and ScrumMaster, developing software primarily in financial services organizations. He was the world’s first certified CSP and one of the firstCST, worldwide. He has led a number of highly successful Scrum implementations. Ostergaard has a Bachelor of Science in Systems Analysis from Linköping University, Sweden and also studied a year at the MBA program at University of Wisconsin
To earn your CSM certificate, you must attend an in-person, two-day CSM course taught by a Certified Scrum Trainer. After completing the course, you will need to pass the CSM test. To get a passing score, you must correctly answer 24 of the 35 questions.After you pass the CSM test, you will be asked to accept the License Agreement and complete your Scrum Alliance membership profile. - See more at
